Independent Technology Architecture Review
Review the architecture before expensive assumptions become commitments. An independent assessment of solution designs, integration approaches, and technology choices, delivered in writing before they are locked in.
No vendor relationships. No commissions. Senior advisory only.
When this service becomes necessary
- A vendor has proposed a complex solution and internal teams do not have the architectural depth to challenge it independently.
- An architecture has been designed internally and there has been no external review before significant development or procurement commitment.
- Integrations are multiplying: the architecture is growing in complexity and nobody has mapped the full dependency picture.
- A programme is approaching a major commitment gate, funding approval, contract signing, or build commencement, and the architecture has not been independently reviewed.
- Architecture decisions are becoming difficult to reverse and leadership wants assurance before proceeding.
- The board or executive team needs independent confidence that the proposed architecture is sound before approving investment.

How the engagement works
- 1
Architecture briefing
Understand the context, the business problem being solved, the proposed solution, and any constraints, technical, commercial, or organisational.
- 2
Documentation review
Examine architecture diagrams, design documents, vendor proposals, integration specifications, and any existing standards or principles. Identify what is documented and what is assumed.
- 3
Assessment
Evaluate fitness for purpose, integration risk, complexity, security design, and vendor dependency. Test the assumptions that have not been made explicit.
- 4
Options
Where the architecture has significant problems, develop and assess alternatives. Not every review produces options: but where the recommendation is to change direction, it must come with alternatives.
- 5
Written findings
Deliver a clear written report with a recommendation the leadership team can use, act on, challenge, or take to a governance body. Not a list of considerations. A conclusion.
The review stands on its own.
Evoltra does not need to win implementation work from this engagement. Recommendations can be executed by the client's internal team, their preferred vendor, or any third party they choose.
There are no vendor relationships, referral arrangements or commissions that could influence the outcome. The advice reflects what the evidence supports, not what would be most convenient to recommend.
Who this is for
Technology leaders, programme sponsors, and governance committees who need independent assurance that a proposed architecture is sound before a significant commitment is made. Particularly valuable when a vendor has proposed the architecture, when the internal team designed it without external review, or when the architecture is the foundation for a multi-year programme.
